This auction features a lovely pair of Union Glass Works Candle Holders in light venetian green, with a band cutting on the candle cup and a control Bubble.
When I first got these I thought they were unusual Pairpoint, but they were different in size, have a hollow blown panel optic body and the flared candle cup and body are all one piece, unlike Pairpoint with a more yellow green and solid body flat rim candle cup that is applied to the stem body. Then I was told by a dealer from New Jersey that they had been done by Union Glass Works in the early 20's, thanks Mr. Ed.
They are 10 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches wide at the base. They do have a polished pontil as shown in the pictures above. Please study the pictures as they are part of the description and condition report. They are also UV reactive as seen in the photos above.
I find no chips, cracks or repairs to the vases. They are not new and light surface scratches can be found on the underside of the foot from normal use.
