Condition:
The
knife is in very good condition considering its age and use. Aluminum pommel and
Cocobolo
handle are securely fastened and the RED/black Bakelite spacers are in good condition. What is interesting is the red spacers. References mention them as having black ones, but all the other features hold up to original data on the knife. The red ones have stumped us. It could be a very rare variation, or possibly it was repaired and only red spacers were available, or this could be a reproduction. We think it is original, but please keep the spacers in mind when bidding. It has a 2" fuller. Half guard is tight. Blade is sharp. There are no nicks or pitting on the blade but there are light scratches. There is no rust, but some light verdigris probably from storing with leather. Tip comes to a sharp point. Sheath is made of leather. There are no major rips or tears. It is sewn tightly with no fraying material and rivets are secure. Snap is functional.
There is no visible verdigris nor rust. Knife and sheath may need a cleaning to meet your standards. Please see our photographs for a better understanding of the contents and their condition.
