Pre 1920 USN Naval Officers Sword Leather carrying case.

Description

Overall in good condition. Has a protective liner. Stitching and handle are intact. Closure straps are worn. Closed length is 42“ & 7” wide. No makers name. When I obtained this case it came with a Navy Officers sword in it. It appears that the Sword & case was on board the USS Kentucky because of the engraving on the sword and scabbard (see photo). Research tells me that the USS Kentucky was in service 1898-1920. All this information is assumed because of the sword coming with the case and the information on the sword and scabbard. I don’t know any firm facts or knowledge about this case.

If any fellow Ebayers can provide any further information about the case or sword it would be appreciated. Maybe the stitching or style of the case can be dated. The only maker information on the blade is Nat Miller, Brooklyn, NY. I cannot find anything about the maker in an effort to date everything.
