    Description

An original bayonet for the M1 Garand service rifle. This bayonet was made by Utica Cutlery Co. in 1942, a model1905 type 2, a 16 inch blade. Starting in 1944 these bayonets were recalled and altered to a 10 inch blade, becoming a  model 1905E1. This one was cut down to form a spear point. Bayonet has the markings of U C and 1942 on obverse, a partial faint ordnance cross cannon stamp on reverse, usually seen on M1 Garand barrels. UFH, (Union Fork and Hoe) stamped on top of handle between the grips, they did the alteration.
The scabbard is a war time model M7 which were produced beginning in mid1943.
This is a nice bayonet, a few nicks on blade, it functions well and locks on to a M1 rifle with ease.
