    Description

Henry C Kittredge's Cape Cod: Its People and Their History Pairpoint Glass Cup Plate 544
1988 Cape Cod Writers' Conference in Light Amber
    Made in America
The design for Pairpoint plate number 544 celebrates Henry C Kittredge's book Cape Cod: Its People and Their History. This beautiful Pairpoint Cup Plate, which features a Packet Ship, was designed by Cape Cod artist Louis Vuilleumier. The plate is from the 1988 Cape Cod Writers' Conference. This light amber plate would make a unique gift for someone with a Cape Cod connection.
    Additional Information
Boxes and padding are included for packing protection only. These are vintage plates and all boxes are stained, and have handwriting or labels. If you prefer a new box, please send me a message.
Review photos using zoom to verify condition. The pictures are taken close and could show blemishes that are not necessarily seen by the naked eye. The photos that show the greatest detail generally appear a little different than the actual color.
Hand pressing on historic presses ensures each plate is unique. The thickness and colors are not exact from plate to plate. Unlike mass production, hand production will inevitably produce irregularities and no cup plate will be flawless. It is normal that plates may have manufacturing bubbles or shear marks. If a plate does not have a Pairpoint label/sticker on it or in the box, the label was removed or the plate was not graded as first quality. If included, the sticker will be visible in one of the photos or I will write a notation indicating the label is in the box.
Made in America. The Pairpoint Glass Co. of Sagamore, MA, which is on Cape Cod, is the oldest glass making company in the USA. The company is well-known for manufacturing cup plates since the 1920's. The majority of the vintage cup plates were commissioned by historical societies, museums, churches, and other non-profit organizations.
Cup plates are small, round decorative glass tea coaster-like collectibles that will glisten and sparkle in the sunlight when placed on window sills as window ornaments. The crystal glass miniature plates make unique gifts, are conversational items and useful as butter pats or tea party favors.

    About me as a Seller
The majority of the cup plates I sell belonged to my mother, who was a very active member of Cape Cod's Pairpoint Cup Plate Collectors of America (PCPCA). She enjoyed hundreds of these collectible glass plates, and had most, if not all, of the limited editions. Each cup plate has a unique story, and I enjoy researching a plate's history.
