    Description

Equinox HD 10 High Definition Underwater Video Camera Housing
For sale- an Equinox HD10 High Definition Underwater Video Camera Housing by Soupcan.
I assume if you came looking for this you already know more about it than I can possibly tell you.
According to the build sheet the housing is specific to the Panasonic HVX200; whether other cameras might also be adapted for use I have no idea.
Camera is NOT included but looks like they are readily available here on ebay.  At the request of a potential buyer I measured the inside diameter of the housing at 9 7/16 inches, and the depth front to back as 14 1/8".
The housing is surplus from a NASA facility, which kind of makes you wonder what they would have been using it for.
    If anything.
It isn’t in flawless condition but the worst thing you can say about it is that one spot of the finish came off when I removed the inventory tag, shown as a close up with my finger tip.
It comes with both the flat and the domed frontplate as pictured.
I did not bother to remove the plastic over the installed flat front, but if you want me to I will be happy to remove that prior to shipping to make sure it isn’t all scratched up.
The domed front has a couple of small scratches on it, most likely from being loose and uncovered in a box with some accessory items in it.
There are a few things that I know it doesn’t have when compared to other listings of the HD10.
It does not come with side handles.
It has a stainless attachment on the bottom for a ballast tray but no ballast or container for ballast.
No lights but those are an option I guess.
It does have a small LCD monitor on the backplate as pictured.
That would appear to be battery powered but I don’t have a battery for it.
Inside the housing when I got it was an AC adaptor and a piece that fit into the monitor lead, but they don’t plug together, both terminate in a male connector which I assume would plug into the battery, so I guess maybe the AC adaptor is in fact a charger for the battery, which again, I do not have.
So I can’t test the monitor, and so the entire system is untested, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.
Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.
Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs which may be substantial.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.
As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.
If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.
If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.
In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.
Also inside the housing was a toothed belt and a bag of O-rings as pictured.
In the box that came with it there was a piece of stainless that looks like it has never been out of the bubble wrap, maybe another camera mounting plate?
Plus more O-rings which I am stumped by, how do those fit into the equation?
Plus some pins for ballast or handles or whatever.
Everything you see in the pictures is included, nothing that is not pictured.
What you see is what you get.
    Please check out my
    other listings
for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment, but no other underwater gear, sorry.
    Check back often!
Sold as is, as described, as pictured.
Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.
Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.
If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.
Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.
Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.
