Greetings: For sale I have a nice BMW R1200RT with a tad under 50k miles. I bought this bike a year ago as an experiment to see if I would enjoy riding again. Turns out, I do and I don't. I really like being out in the breeze on nice days on state and town roads. I'm not really liking highway travel so much; too much noise and too many imbeciles in cars. Also, I often look down at the ground whizzing by and think to myself, "wow, that is some serious sandpaper, right there!" So, when I riding around, while I enjoy most if it, I also just get a knot of tension in my gut. So, I'm listening to my gut tell me I'm a wimp, and am selling this fabulous bike so I can get some kind of convertible, perhaps a TVR 280i.I've been getting a calculated 49.6 miles to the gallon, so that should tell you how sedately I ride this bike. In fact, up until a friend rode it a few weeks ago, I left it in rain mode. It had plenty of power in rain mode for me. As indicated, this bike comes with all of the standard equipment like the two riding modes, heated grips, hard cases, BMW factory large truck (not in the photos, but residing in my basement in perfect condition). I will sell it with two seats, both factory BMW driver units. One is their low seat and I believe the other seat is a standard height unit. This last came with the bike, and all I really know is that I'm way too stumpy to ride in that seat, so I bought the low unit. I'll also leave the Ram phone mount; not like I can use it in too many cars.
The bike will need tires before next spring, and the service light is on solely because I changed the oil myself and do not have access to a rest tool. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged, and you may certainly plug your scanner in if you have one. There are no signs that this bike was ever dragged along the ground, but, it is a used bike and does have some minor scuffs as shown in the photos.
I require a 0.00 deposit by PayPal upon your commitment to buy, and the balance prior to the bike's departure. The balance can be in cash in person, legitimate wire transfer, or a verifiable bank check that has cleared my account. Please note that I will email a scanned copy of any bank checks to their purported issuing bank for verification. If they say it is actually their check, then I will deposit the check and there will be around a one to two week period before the issuing bank will confirm to me that the check has been honored. Please also note that I have seen several good forgeries, and I will not be issuing any refunds to any person of any excess monies. In short, if you are a loser that wants to scam me, please go find something legal and productive to do with your brain instead of being a criminal.
Next, please know that I guarantee that this bike is exactly as represented. If you reasonably determine that the bike is not substantially as represented, I will refund your deposit on the spot. I offer this on every auction I do, and I have never had anyone ask me to give them a refund. I may not be a huge eBayer, but I have a 100% positive rating, and I have NEVER had a neutral or negative rating. You must inspect the bike personally, or you can have your agent verify that its condition is accurately represented. If you choose to have the bike transported without it having been first inspected and approved, then it is a one-way trip.
Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, but I will happily assist with coordinating with the transporter and anything else along those lines.
