Vintage Yale Forestry School report "HOW TO GROW LONG-LEAF PINE SEEDLINGS".  By H. H. Chapman.  February 1, 1946.  Report to Jackson Lumber Company, Lockhart, Alabama.
Seven page report bound in left margin with staples.  Cover is a light weight tan color construction paper.
Overall excellent condition with no stains, marks, or handwriting.
Report appears to be unused.

Report discusses the need for and recommendations on how to naturally regenerate longleaf pine with the use of prescribed fire.  Briefly compares longleaf pine ecology to slash pine.   This is written in the beginning age of forest conservation / stewardship thinking in the U.S. South.
Also included is a business letter from Jackson Lumber Company, Lockhart, Alabama dated February 19, 1946 that introduces the H.H. Chapman report to an unidentified recipient.  This letter (see photos) is on company letterhead.  It is also in excellent condition, no stains, marks, or handwriting.
Good addition to forest history / memorabilia collection.
