I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. This one is just for fun and it takes me back to high school when the first Star Wars movie came out. I have enjoyed the franchise throughout the years and this particular kit represents the Millennium Falcon as she appeared in one of the ‘prequel’ episodes:
Solo – A Star Wars Story
. This was when the Falcon was owned by a young Lando Calrissian around the time of the infamous Kessel Run. It is designed to be a quick snap together build and has lights and sound features that make it suitable as a toy. You can put it together quickly and let the kids (or grandkids, in my case) play with it, since it doesn’t need to be painted or glued together. It actually comes with various colored panels and sections to make it look reasonable. For those who are more serious, you could spend some time adding more details and character to the finish and it can be something to be proud of.

Scalemates.com has a listing for this kit under an alternate part number (Revell #06767) that shows that this is a 2018 release based on a new tool in 2015. This matches up with the release of
Solo: A Star Wars Story
. They have a few links that are interesting – one is a reference book and the other is a virtual Walk-Around of the studio model used in one of the Star Wars films. There are over a hundred high resolution photos to show every square inch of that ‘stellar’ masterpiece.

As with other reviewers, he acknowledges this as a great starter kit and toy for little hands, but also that it has potential to be a realistic showpiece in more experienced hands. Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time.
